Priscila Cachoeira: "Zombie Girl" looks to snap an extremely dismal run of recent form
It’s been a rough UFC tenure for Priscila Cachoeira (13-8). While she’s been in there with some brutal levels of competition, “Zombie Girl” is 5-8 since joining the promotion as an undefeated prospect, debuting with one of the most egregious late stoppages at the hands of Valentina Shevchenko back in 2018. One of the heavier hitters in the women’s bantamweight division, Cachoeira’s power means that she’s always a knockout threat but her grappling has consistently proven to be her Achilles heel; the Brazilian has been tapped out in 50% of her UFC losses to date.
Chelsea Chandler: Is Chandler still legitimately UFC quality at this point in proceedings?
Returning for her first fight since a first round TKO loss to Joselyne Edwards last April, Chelsea Chandler (6-4) looks for her first win since 2024 come Saturday night. Despite debuting with an impressive POTN winning ground and pound TKO over Julia Stoliarenko, the American is just 2-3 since joining the promotion back in 2022, with multiple weight misses and inactivity marring her time in the UFC. The former Invicta alum has three finishes in her six professional wins, although she hasn’t scored one since her victory over the aforementioned Stoliarenko.
Priscila Cachoeira vs Chelsea Chandler prediction
With the greatest of respect, this is a bottom of the barrel matchup at women’s bantamweight. The two combatants have a combined record of 19-12, with their combined UFC run standing at a dismal 7-11.
However, while Cachoeira may be 1-4 across her last five fights, this smacks of the type of contest where she’s able to leverage her power advantage to find a finish. “Zombie Girl” hits extremely hard for the weight class and typically only loses to fighters who are able to finish her on the ground. Klaudia Sygula put a kickboxing clinic on her last time out, but Chandler doesn’t look to fit either of those two molds.
Chandler could conceivably win this if she’s able to mix in takedowns, but with just a single submission win in ten professional fights, she doesn’t look to be much of a threat to earn a finish on the mat. I think she’s going to try and strike with Cachoeira and get clobbered with a fight ending shot in the early goings.
Both fighters are so unreliable that betting on either of them with any sense of certainty is borderline impossible, but the tentative pick is for Cachoeira to earn a TKO victory and snap a two fight losing streak.
Prediction: Priscila Cachoeira to win by TKO
