Hyder Amil: "The Hurricane" returns in the hopes of getting back to winning ways
Fresh off a crushing knockout loss to Jose Miguel Delgado that saw his undefeated record go up in smoke, one would hope that Hyder Amil (11-1) has learned that he can't charge in with such reckless abandon against elite UFC competition. A powerful striker who likes to relentlessly pressure his opponents, "The Hurricane" began his UFC tenure at 3-0 after making it into the promotion via DWCS, culminating in an impressive win over William Gomis. Unfortunately for Amil, he would run face first into a Delgado knee in the very first round in his most recent appearance, coughing up his "0" in the process.
Jamall Emmers: Can "Pretty Boy" lean on his veteran craft to carry him to victory?
Jamall Emmers (21-8) was originally scheduled to face featherweight prospect Austin Bashi, only to see his opponent replaced with Amil following an injury. Owner of a 4-4 UFC run to date, Emmers has fought solid levels of competition throughout his career. He took Giga Chikadze to a decision in his UFC debut, and he also owns a win over bantamweight title challenger Cory Sandhagen from the earlier days of his career. Emmers hasn't had a fight leave the first round since 2023, with a stoppage loss to Nate Landwehr sandwiched between KO victories over Gabriel Miranda and Dennis Buzukja.

The odds are virtually even on this one, but there's an argument to be made that they're doing "Pretty Boy" a disservice here.
The well rounded Emmers has proven to be a tough fight for anybody in the division. He's been caught and finished in brutal fashion before, but he's losing to solid fringe contenders like to Nate Landwehr, Julian Erosa, and Pat Sabatini. He's also got sneaky power in his hands and has scored first round knockouts in both of his two most recent wins, a worrying prospect for a fighter coming off their first KO defeat.
Amil is undoubtedly dangerous, but there's a valid argument to be made that he lost to William Gomis. Take away that victory and his resume suddenly falls apart. At 35, the American is no prospect, and he's also on the wrong end of a significant edge in height and reach. Throw in the fact that he's coming off one of the more brutal KO losses of the year in less than six months, and that's more than enough to set the alarm bells ringing.
Emmers consistently stings Amil on the back foot across three rounds as "The Hurricane" marches forward, potentially even piling on the damage to score a late stoppage on the feet.
