Chris Padilla: Can "Taco" maintain his undefeated UFC record and score his seventh successive win?
Debuting on short notice against James Llontop, few expected Chris Padilla (16-6) to have the success he has had since joining the promotion back in 2024. "Taco" would proceed to strangle Llontop in a first round submission victory, before following his debut up with a doctor's stoppage over Rongzhu and a decision over former Cage Warriors champion Jai Herbert. Closing as the underdog in every UFC fight he has had to date, Padilla looks to keep his unlikely run going and score his fourth successive victory in the promotion.
Ismael Bonfim: "Marreta" looks to set the standard for the Bonfim family before his brother fights in the main event
Arriving in the UFC via DWCS in 2023, Ismael Bonfim (20-5) has posted a 2-2 record since joining the promotion. While he arguably finds himself in the shadow of his younger brother as of 2025, it was actually Ismael who initially launched the siblings into the public eye, devastating Terrance McKinney with a highlight reel flying knee KO to earn a Performance of the Night bonus in his debut. Regrettably for the 29 year old "Marreta", he's had mixed success since, sandwiching a decision victory over Vinc Pichel between decisive stoppage losses to Benoit St Denis and Nazim Sadykov.
Chris Padilla vs Ismael Bonfim prediction
The oddsmakers appear to be siding with Bonfim to get the job done before his brother takes the stage, but there's an argument to be made that there's some solid value in the underdog Padilla.
Beating Terrance McKinney was an impressive win; taking Vinc Pichel to a decision is not. Outside of his only two UFC victories, Bonfim has been absolutely smoked by gritty fighters who will bring the pressure to him. In "Taco," he's facing exactly that, a man who has closed as the underdog on three successive occasions and walked away with the "W". Mauricio Ruffy couldn't finish James Llontop, but Padilla did.
Parlaying extensive regional experience into his current six fight win streak, the tricky "Taco" is undefeated in the UFC to date for a reason. Bonfim is undoubtedly the hardest hitter that he's faced throughout his UFC tenure, but it's not far-fetched to suggest that if he can survive the early goings that he'll begin to take over in the later rounds. "Marreta" is also facing the daunting prospect of producing a statement performance before his brother fights in the main event, not where one wants to be off the back of a first round stoppage loss.
Simply put, this one has upset written all over it.
Prediction: Chris Padilla to win
