Torino preview: Mid-table Torino
Despite a change in management in the summer with the appointment of Paolo Vanoli, who had just won the Serie B title with Venezia, to replace Ivan Juric, who went on to manage Roma this season, Torino have remained firmly in the middle-of-the-table in Serie A.
The Piedmont-based club come into this one on the back of collecting just one point from their last four matches in the league as they coast towards the end of the season. They most recently suffered a 1-0 loss to Lecce at Stadio Comunale Via del Mare in Apulia last weekend.
Roma preview: Ranieri’s Romans
When Claudio Ranieri came out of retirement to become Roma’s third permanent manager of the season during the November international break, Roma were getting dragged towards the relegation battle but they instead could qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
The Giallorossi have been magnificent in the last six months or so as the Romans come into this one on the back of a return to winning ways as they defeated AC Milan by three goals to one at the Stadio Olimpico in the capital city last weekend.
Torino team news: Several doubts
Torino have some long-term absentees such as Perr Schuurs and Duvan Zapata. They also have several key doubts for this weekend, too, such as defenders Saul Coco and Borna Sosa as well as North Macedonia midfielder Eljif Elmas.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Milinkovic-Savic; Dembele, Guillermo Maripan, Masina, Biraghi; Ricci, Casadei; Lazaro, Vlasic, Gineitis; Adams
Unavailable: Schuurs (Injured), Ilkhan (Injured), Duvan Zapata (Injured)
Questionable: Saul Coco (Injured), Sosa (Injured), Elmas (Injured), Njie (Injured), Karamoh (Injured)
Roma team news: Couple of injuries
As they make the trip to Turin this weekend, Italy international midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini is sidelined alongside Argentina international attacker Paulo Dybala, whilst Ukraine international striker and key man Artem Dovbyk is also a doubt for the Romans.
Predicted XI (3-5-2): Svilar; Celik, Mancini, Ndicka; Matias Soule, Cristante, Paredes, Kone, Angelino; Saelemaekers, Shomurodov
Unavailable: Pellegrini (Injured), Dybala (Injured)
Questionable: Dovbyk (Injured)
Torino vs Roma prediction
Torino have been frustrating to watch throughout this campaign with some underwhelming form throughout, despite the fact that Vanoli came in to replace Juric to try and make them more entertaining after a year of stagnation. They face a Roma side that haven’t been fluent in attack in their remarkable run of form in 2025 but they have confidently and comfortably been able to grind out results – and that should once again be the case for this one at the Olimpico di Torino.
Torino vs Roma tip: Roma to win & under 3.5 goals
