Tomas Machac vs Alexander Zverev prediction
Tomas Machac advanced to round two of the French Open for just the second time in his career as he beat Zizou Bergs in straight sets. Machac went a break down at the start of sets two and three, but he quickly responded as he won 6-4 6-4 6-3. The Czech withdrew from the Italian Open earlier this month as a result of illness, and he will hope to put together a strong performance against world number three Alexander Zverev.
Zverev began his latest quest for a first Grand Slam title with a comfortable win over Benjamin Bonzi. The German was broken just once and only conceded two break points on his serve as he won 6-3 6-4 6-2 after two hours and eight minutes.
Zverev leads the head-to-head 1-0 after beating Machac at the Paris Olympics two years ago. This isn’t the most straight-forward of second-round matches for the three-time Grand Slam finalist, and he will be tested, but he should have enough to get through.
