Titouan Droguet vs Jakub Mensik prediction
Titouan Droguet last competed in Bordeaux on the Challenger Tour, winning two matches before a defeat to Raphael Collignon in the quarter-finals. He reached his first tour-level semi-final in February at the Open Occitanie in Montpellier. Droguet is ranked just outside of the top 100 in the world rankings, but he has been handed a wildcard for his home slam.
He takes on Jakub Mensik in the first-round. The Czech’s poor form continued in Hamburg last time out as he won just three games against Ignacio Buse in the second-round. His ranking has dropped to 28 in the world following his failure to defend his Miami Open title, while his results on clay have been distinctly average, only making the round-of-16 at one event in Madrid.
Mensik is unable to utilise his first serve effectively on clay, though he did beat Droguet in the first-round of the US Open three years ago after coming from a set down. The 20-year-old is the clear favourite, but he can be vulnerable at times, especially if he has to rely on his ground game.
