Panna Upvardy will be eager to put an end to Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah’s surprise run in Sao Paulo.

The Hungarian saw off Brazilian underdog Ana Candiotto 6-3 6-3 last time out and must now take down the 19-year-old French starlet for a spot in the last four.

The world number 214, Rakotomanga Rajaonah defeated Victoria Sanchez 7-5 6-1 but will need her best performance yet to stun Upvardy.

The Hungarian has now won eight of her last 10 matches and looks the more consistent of the two with the French hopeful’s fine run in Brazil coming on the back of a six-match losing streak.

Rakotomanga Rajaonah is certainly enjoying the conditions but Upvardy is the more solid overall and should come through in the end.
