World number 40 Anna Blinkova has enjoyed a steady rise up the WTA rankings over the past 12 months, winning her maiden WTA title at Cluj-Napoca late last season and finishing runner-up to Elina Svitolina at the Strasbourg Open in May. The 24-year-old has reached the second round here in each of her last two appearances to look the favourite but former world number 12 Yanina Wickmayer should not be underestimated after an impressive qualifying campaign last week. The 33-year-old reached the round of 16 here back in 2011 and she has won in the first round in each of her last four appearances to suggest this match will be hotly contested. Back Blinkova to earn at least a set as the likelier of two very capable winners but leave this tricky one out of an accumulator.
