27-year-old Nicolas Jarry set a career-high ATP world ranking of 26th back in June after his career-best run to the round of 16 at Roland-Garros, backing up two ATP titles won on his favoured clay at home in Santiago and more recently in Geneva. The Chilean has impressed across all surfaces, though, to suggest there is more to come on the late hardcourt swing and he came close than anyone to beating Los Cabos champion Stefanos Tsitsipas last week. World number 34 Ugo Humbert has a similar story to Jarry as a player who reached a career-high of 2th in January last year before badly falling back into the wilderness. The 25-year-old has worked hard on the Challenger circuit this season to bring himself back up to the higher end of the sport and at his best he is a genuine contender for a future top 10 spot. A run to the semi-finals of the Atlanta Open last month saw some encouraging wins but Jarry has the better recent form of the two. A first meeting between them looks likely to need a decider so consider taking Jarry to earn at least a set and add at least a tiebreak between two players who are hard to break.
