UGO HUMBERT VS LORENZO SONEGO PREDICTION
This should be a thrilling opener to Roland-Garros 2024 as French number one Ugo Humbert takes on Lorenzo Sonego on Court Suzanne-Lenglen. The pair share a tight 3-2 head-to-head record in Humbert’s favour after the left-hander came back from a set down to win their clash in Monte-Carlo, on clay, last month but Sonego leads 2-1 on clay with two results last season, including in straight sets in the second round here. Three of their five encounters have seen sets go both ways and it would not be a surprise to see this opener go to five sets as Humbert tries to make strong 2024 form count on his least effective surface against Sonego, who is well capable of finding his elusive best in these conditions.
