THE PREDICTION
World number 17 Tommy Paul did well to oust in-form home hopeful Gregoire Barrere in three sets on Tuesday, snapping a four-match losing streak at tour-level in the process. The 26-year-old reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open back in January and there has understandably been a drop off in form since, although he found plenty of joy last summer on tour and it should not take long for the American to regroup. World number 52 Brandon Nakashima has also struggled to rediscover his level since winning the Next Gen ATP Finals late last season but a three-set victory over Arthur Rinderknech on Tuesday gave him back-to-back wins for the first time this year and that should encourage the youngster. 21-year-old Nakashima beat Paul in three sets on grass last summer at the Libema Open but Paul is probably the more comfortable on clay. Take Paul to earn at least a set inside an accumulator or edge this outright on its own with both players not yet at their best.
