THE PREDICTION

World number 34 Tomas Martin Etcheverry is the top seed at the Kitzbuhel Open this week with the top players on tour starting their US hardcourt swings and he will be desperate to make the most of it. The 24-year-old has enjoyed a fabulous breakthrough season on tour with two runners-up finishes at the Chile Open and Houston Open on his favoured clay but his best run by far was a remarkable quarter-final exit at Roland-Garros. World number 240 Guido Andreozzi qualified well this weekend before an excellent comeback over Filip Misolic on Monday. The 31-year-old set a career-high ATP world ranking of 70th back in 2019 but this was his first tour-level win this season, with little recent form on the Challenger circuit to suggest he can cause an upset here. Etcheverry takes a three-match losing streak into this bye to the round of 16 but the younger Argentine can be backed to come through outright ahead of bigger challenges.
