World number nine Taylor Fritz received a bye to the round of 16 at the Atlanta Open as the top seed this week but he could well have done with e kinder first round opener after losing four of his last seven matches. The 25-year-old should have enjoyed an excellent run on grass over the last few months but he failed to win back to back matches anywhere, including a sorry exit as the reigning Eastbourne champion back in June and a shock five-set defeat to Mikael Ymer at Wimbledon. World number 89 Yibing Wu upset Fritz in three sets in the semi-final at the Dallas Open back in February en-route to claiming his shock maiden ATP tour title and he will be a serious threat to the American once again here. The 23-year-old beat Corentin Moutet in straight sets on Tuesday to look assured back on his favoured hardcourts and it is difficult to see Fritz getting through here unscathed. Consider taking Wu to earn at least a set in a match that looks likely to need a decider or take at least a tiebreak in the match, as happened in their first meeting in Dallas.
