THE PREDICTION
World number nine Taylor Fritz did well to beat the returning Kei Nishikori in straight sets on Friday, never really letting the former world number four into their match. The 25-year-old has struggled with his form over the last few months but a long break after an early exit at Wimbledon looks to have, so far, been the right call after two strong wins in Atlanta. World number 46 J.J. Wolf is yet to drop a set after ousting the resurgent Dominik Koepfer comfortably on Friday but the 24-year-old will face Fritz for the first time here having never beaten a top 10 player on tour. Wolf is well capable of an upset if Fritz suffers another lapse in intensity but the top seed looks more focused than he has for some time. Back Fritz to edge through outright, although two sets are just-about likelier than three.
