THE PREDICTION
World number four Stefanos Tsitsipas won his first outdoor hardcourt title at the Los Cabos Open two weeks ago, his 10th ATP title overall. The Greek turned 25 last week and he was able to celebrate it in comfort after a shock early exit to Gael Monfils at this stage of the Canada Masters but he should be ready to recalibrate here in Cincinnati. This is no gimme at all, though, against world number 40 Ben Shelton. The 20-year-old came back from a set down to beat Christopher Eubanks on Sunday to build on a strong performance in defeat to Carlos Alcaraz at this stage of Toronto last week and he will be desperate to impress on his Cincinnati debut in front of a partisan atmosphere. Taking the American to sneak a set could be the shrewd move but Tsitsipas has looked increasingly confident on court since joining back up with Mark Philippousis. Consider taking at least a tiebreak in the match between two top servers but otherwise back Tsitsipas to edge through outright.
