World number two Aryna Sabalenka grabbed perhaps her most impressive result of the season in beating world number one Iga Swiatek in three sets, on clay, to win the Madrid Open for a second time. The 25-year-old won her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open back in January but beating Swiatek, who won their Stuttgart Open final three weeks ago, should boost her confidence even more as she now faces the very real possibility of reaching the top of the sport herself.
