Former world number three Grigor Dimitrov ,oved back up to number 24 this week after a strong run to the quarter-finals at Queen’s last week, where he beat Emil Ruusuvuori and Francisco Cerundolo before losing to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz. The 32-year-old reached the semi-finals here back in 2014 at the start of some serious hype around him but almost a decade on the Bulgarian has yet to reach a Grand Slam final, with his most recent title also his most prestigious at the ATP Finals in 2017. Dimitrov reached a first ATP final in five years at the Geneva Open last month to suggest there are some encouraging signs under new coach Jamie Delgado but it remains to be seen what he can do at SW19 as he so often struggles against top 10 players. 25-year-old Sho Shimabukuro set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 162nd this week after qualifying with an excellent victory over Denis Kudla to make his Grand Slam debut.
