27-year-old Sebastian Ofner beat an out-of-sorts Maxime Cressy in straight sets on Sunday to back-up a very solid qualifying campaign at Roland-Garros and he will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of around 105th for his trouble. This looks too steep a climb, though, against world number 30 Sebastian Korda after the American handily beat compatriot Mackenzie McDonald in straight sets on Sunday for a first, confidence-boosting win since returning from injury. The 22-year-old reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in January before suffering a wrist injury and he has returned to tour with more muscle on his frame after a few months’ recovery. Whilst it remains to be seen how far Korda can push his body through longer format matches here he can be backed to beat Ofner in this first meeting between the two. An outright pick would be wise, though, as Ofner has played well enough in Paris to warrant caution.
