27-year-old Sebastian Ofner set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 52nd last month after his career-best run to the round of 16 at Roland-Garros but he has yet to win a match this season on a hardcourt. This is certainly one of the tougher calls on Monday in a first meeting between the Austrian and world number 79 Nuno Borges, the latter of whom brings a four-match losing streak into the US Open, but Borges is probably the more comfortable in these conditions after beating Ben Shelton in five sets on his debut last summer. Each of Borges’ last fur first round matches at Grand Slams have seen sets go both ways so back the Portuguese to earn at least a set, or for both players to win at least one, to leave the victor up to chance.
