SEBASTIAN KORDA VS VASEK POSPISIL PREDICTION

Sebastian Korda comes into the Canadian Open in buoyant mood having won the Citi Open in Washington last week and having reached his highest ever position in the world rankings at number 18. Korda beat some good players last week overcoming Cobolli, Tiafoe, Thompson and Kokkinakis so he will have little to fear in the early rounds in Montreal.

Pospisil has been struggling of late as he career looks to peter out. The Canadian has been on the Challenger Tour and his days of competing at the highest level look to be over with injuries taking their toll on the 34-year-old. He returns to the Canadian Open seeking to rekindle the magic but he has not won a match here since 2016 and is unlikely to start now.

Barring a hangover from Washington, Korda will also be confident in the knowledge that he has beaten Pospisil in their one previous meeting. That came three years ago in Washington when he won in straight sets and he can follow that up and get another win against the home favourite.
