Luciano Darderi vs Stefanos Tsitsipas prediction

Luciano Darderi began his Japan Open campaign with a fine win over three-time Grand Slam finalist Casper Ruud, though he would lose in the next round to Kyrian Jacquet. Darderi’s best form has been on his favoured clay, with a title in Santiago and two further final appearances in Buenos Aires and Gstaad. However, there have been encouraging signs on hard courts. The Italian advanced to the round-of-16 at the Australian Open and the US Open, along with a quarter-final appearance in Montreal.

He received a bye in round one and now faces former world number three Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek won his opener against Kimmer Coppejans comfortably. Tsitsipas did not concede a break point, winning 6-3 7-5 after one hour and 16 minutes.

Tsitsipas leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a win in Halle last year. The 28-year-old appears to have regained some confidence following a string of encouraging performances and should be capable of causing Darderi problems.
