World number five Stefanos Tsitsipas finished runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz at the Barcelona Open last weekend and that result saw him start a little sluggishly against an improving Dominic Thiem, who took the first set on Saturday before Tsitsipas edged through in three. 24-year-old Tsitsipas was badly beaten by Taylor Fritz in his double title defence of the Monte-Carlo Open earlier this month and despite his run to the final in Barcelona last week he has struggled to beat players ranked inside the top 20 since finishing runner-up at the Australian Open in January. That should see him through against world number 31 Sebastian Baez on Sunday but the Argentine impressed in his first meeting with Tsitsipas in Melbourne last season, taking him to four sets before defeat in the second round, and he tends to improve against the better players. 22-year-old Baez came back from a set down to Marcos Giron on Saturday to suggest he is ready for a fight and Tsitsipas’ form right now makes backing him to dominate unwise. Take the Greek to win outright here or consider taking at least one tiebreak here given two of their four sets played together have fallen that way.
