World number 42 Sebastian Baez produced a huge performance to beat top seed Borna Coric in three tight sets on Friday, reaching back-to-back finals on tour after winning the Kitzbuhel Open earlier this month. The Argentine’s nine-match winning streak is especially impressive considering it started on his favoured clay before this week on hardcourts in Winston-Salem but he may be at a disadvantage here against the much better rested Jiri Lehecka. World number 35 Lehecka is through to his first tour final at 21 years old after just three matches due to Sebastian Korda pulling out of their semi-final and the Czech will come in with two days’ recovery in his legs. Baez is a plyer who thrives on intensity but the 22-year-old has played a lot of three-setters this week.
