World number 30 Dan Evans takes a five-match losing streak into Wimbledon as he continues to struggle with closing out matches but the 33-year-old has also enjoyed a few highs this year, reaching the semi-finals of the Marrakech Open and Barcelona Open 500. The Brit is always a popular draw at Wimbledon with an entertaining, silky playstyle that can disrupt most players ranked outside the top 40 but world number 76 Quentin Halys certainly stands a chance at the upset here after winning a Challenger event two weeks ago in his native France. The 26-year-old reached the round of 16 at the Miami Open back in March and impressed in parts of the clay swing more recently but this will be his first match on grass in 2023. Evans is a good win away from getting out of his current fugue but sets should go both ways here, with Halys well-versed in tiebreaks. Back Evans to earn at least a set and add at least one tiebreak in the match to leave the result up to chance.
