THE PREDICTION
World number 23 Qinwen Zheng did well to overcome renowned giant killer Kaia Kanepi in three sets on Thursday, backing-up a one-sided opener over Nadia Podoroska. The 20-year-old has impressed across all surfaces since bursting onto the scene last season and she could be a dark horse for a first quarter-final at this level with the right draw. World number 76 Lucia Bronzetti stunned 12th seed Barbora Krejcikova in the first round and then backed it up with an impressive straight-sets victory over qualifier Eva Lys. The 24-year-old won her maiden WTA title at the Rabat Open on her favoured clay back in May, either side of some huge losing streaks, to look erratic but dangerous here but Zheng beat the Italian in straight sets in their previous meeting in Monterrey last season. Bronzetti is well capable of taking this to a decider given her run but taking Zheng to win in straight sets feels a reasonable risk on this occasion.
