THE PREDICTION

21-year-old Caty McNally could set a new career-high WTA world ranking of around 62nd after coming back from a set down to beat Dalma Galfi on Wednesday. The American has already enjoyed plenty of success on the doubles tour but she is starting to find her feet in singles now, with a run to the semi-finals of the Merida Open back in February her best so far. This should be too steep a climb right now, though, against world number 24 Qinwen Zheng. The Chinese rising star was unfortunate to meet eventual Stuttgart champion Iga Swiatek so early last week but she has enjoyed plenty of great wins on clay, with a run to the round of 16 at Roland-Garros also halted by eventual champion Swiatek. Zheng, also 21, looks an all-court threat in the making but her prowess on clay is already here to see. Back her to win in outright, although straight sets should do it.
