THE PREDICTION

21-year-old Peyton Stearns will make her Roland-Garros debut at a career-high WTA world ranking of 69th after a run to the quarter-finals of the rabat Open was ended in three tight sets by Sloane Stephens. The American finished runner-up to Tatjana Maria at the Bogota Open last month, her maiden tour final, and she won back-to-back ITF titles in the US at the start of the season to show a steep rise in her level. World number 48 Katerina Siniakova ended last season in some her best form, at least in singles, to claim her third WTA title at the Slovenia Open. The 27-year-old is playing her first match since suffering an injury at the Miami Open back in March but whilst she may be caught a little cold in this first meeting with Stearns she should be ready to go in the Women’s Doubles in her seasoned partnership with Barbora Krejcikova. Back in-form Stearns to earn at least a set as the likelier of two capable winners but the American should be coming through here on her debut.
