World number 37 Anna Blinkova has impressed across surfaces this season to bring herself close to contention for a seed at the US Open later this month. The 24-year-old struggled in Montreal last week, coming back from a set down to beat an out-of-sorts Shuai Zhang before a straight-sets defeat to Daria Kasatkina, but she is strong enough to be cautious about here. Kvitova took Belinda Bencic to three sets before defeat in the round of 16 in Montreal last week and she can beat Blinkova if she maintains that level. Take the Czech to win outright.
