World number 79 Albert Ramos-Vinolas brought a hugely concerning 6-19 record for 2023 into the Gstaad Open but the Spaniard has finally found his usual level on his favoured clay. The 35-year-old handily beat Miomir Kecmanovic on Saturday to back-up some strong results this week over the likes of Lorenzo Sonego and Fabio Fognini but he faces the best performing player this week in Pedro Cachin for the chance to win a fifth ATP title. World number 90 Cachin reached his maiden final here with a comprehensive victory over Hamad Medjedovic on Saturday but his straight-sets upset of top seed Roberto Bautista Agut is the pick of his results this week. The Argentine is yet to drop a set in Gstaad to look the stronger of the two on form but Ramos-Vinolas is a wily competitor in these conditions and his experience could tell the longer this match plays out. The sensible option is probably taking Cachin to earn at least a set but given his recent performances, including in an impressive defeat to Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon, taking him to edge this outright should come through.
