World number 139 Olivia Gadecki qualified for her US Open debut with flying colours this week, conceding just two games in her final round against Emina Bektas. The 21-year-old received a wildcard to the main draw at the Australian Open back in January to make her overall Grand Slam debut and won it against fellow youngster Polina Kudermetova to suggest she has a slight chance here but 16-year-old Mirra Andreeva is no ordinary youngster. The 16-year-old has been one of the stories of the season this year after bursting onto the scene with a run to the round of 16 at the Madrid Masters and she eclipsed that emphatically with a round of 16 exit to Madison Keys in three sets on her Wimbledon debut. Andreeva has reached at least the third round in each of her first two major tournaments to look the overwhelming favourite but recent defeats in Lausanne and Cleveland make an outright call the sensible one for an accumulator.
