World number 21 Nicolas Jarry grabbed the best win of his career over world number two Carlos Alcaraz on Saturday, stunning the defending champion in straight sets to build on a strong week in Buenos Aires. The Chilean began his surge back up the world rankings with victory on home clay this time last season in Santiago and he added a third ATP title in Geneva, also on clay, last summer before enjoying a brilliant spell on both grass and hardcourts. 23-year-old Facundo Diaz Acosta will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of around 69th after a spotless run to his maiden final on tour. The Argentine will be backed to the hilt as a Buenos Aires native here but Jarry will enjoy some support of his own after his efforts this week and he has won each of his last three finals to bring some much-needed experience into thus cauldron.
