This is a huge opportunity for one of world number 225 Natalija Stevanovic and number 122 Tamara Korpatsch to reach the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time. 28-year-old Korpatsch came back from a set down to beat fellow qualifier Carol Zhao in the first round but that result is dwarfed by Stevanovic’s remarkable upset over 2021 runner-up Karolina Pliskova. The Serb conceded just four games to former world number one Pliskova, who looked out of form but still would have expected to coast for a few rounds at SW19, to look the favourite here but beware taking too bug of a side in this tight call. Backing up a career-best result like that will be tough for the Serb to manage, so take Stevanovic to earn at least a set as the likelier of two capable winners to come through.
