Both world number 69 Elina Avanesyan and number 80 Nadia Podoroska conceded just three games to their respective round of 16 opponents on Thursday, handing out a bagel each to suggest this will be a fierce quarter-final. 20-year-old Avanesyan is on the rise this season after a remarkable run to the round of 16 at Roland-Garros last month but 26-year-old Podoroska can raise her a semi-final exit in Paris back in 2020, where she set a career-high of 36th before an injury saw her fall out of the top 100 last season.
