World number 33 Miomir Kecmanovic did well to beat Abedallah Shelbayh in straight sets on Thursday as the Jordanian youngster brought a lot of positive momentum into their round of 16 clash. 23-year-old Kecmanovic has twice finished runner-up on tour this season, to Taylor Fritz at the Delray Beach Open and Casper Ruud at the Estoril Open, but he faces another player in excellent form so far this season for what should be a fascinating first encounter. 21-year-old Jiri Lehecka set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 36th this week and he has yet to drop a set in Banja Luka after a one-sided demolition of Radu Albot on Thursday. Both youngsters are capable of breaking the top 20 this season with a couple of deep runs but the clay conditions here better-suit the Serb, as does the likely partisan atmosphere pulling in Kecmanovic’s direction. Take Kecmanovic to earn at least a set and leave the victor up to chance.
