THE PREDICTION

19-year-old Abdullah Shelbayh is the first Jordanian to set an ATP world ranking and he will set a new career high of at around 242nd after claiming the first tour-level win of his career in straight sets over Elias Ymer on Tuesday. The teenager has drawn one of the tougher opponents in world number 33 Miomir Kecmanovic but he has nothing to lose and plenty of matches in his legs this week after coming through the qualifiers strongly. 23-year-old Kecmanovic was beaten by a resurgent Lorenzo Musetti in the first round of the Monte-Carlo Open last week but the Serb finished runner-up to Casper Ruud at the Estoril Open earlier this month – his second final reached this season. Despite recent improvements on hardcourts Kecmanovic is still at his best in these conditions but this will be his opening fixture in Banja Luka and it would not be a surprise to see Shelbayh snatch a set on momentum alone. Back Kecmanovic to win outright or consider a one-off on Shelbayh to earn at least a set outside of an accumulator.
