MAX PURCELL VS HENRI SQUIRE PREDICTION
World number 94 Max Purcell will have to be resolute here against qualifier Henri Squire, with the Aussie far from his best on clay. 26-year-old Purcell enjoyed a well-earned purple patch on the late hardcourt swing last summer with top results over Felix Auger-Aliassime, Casper Ruud and a tight three-set exit to Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Masters, but more recently he has dropped back into the Challengers to try and find some form.
23-year-old Squire qualified well this week to make his Grand Slam debut here at Roland-Garros and he will look to fellow qualifier Jesper de Jong’s shock win over Jack Draper yesterday as motivation. Back the German to earn at least two sets as the likelier of two capable victors in what is a decent candidate for five sets.
