THE PREDICTION
World number 16 Cam Norrie has enjoyed a so far comfortable run through to the third round of the US Open without dropping a set and he cam match his best exit here with one more win. The 28-year-old brought some poor form into New York, stretching back to a run to the quarter-finals at Indian Wells back in March, but the former college star looks his most comfortable on US hardcourts and it should take a top 30 player at least to oust him over five sets. 22-year-old Matteo Arnaldi will break the top 60 on tour for the first time after ousting fellow youngster Arthur Fils in five thrilling sets on Thursday. The Italian enjoyed an easy opener over an injured Jason Kubler to play just six sets overall so far and fatigue should not be an issue in this first meeting with Norrie, who often counts on his exceptional athleticism to out-last foes at this level. The conditions heavily favour Norrie but Arnaldi has nothing to lose on this biggest day of his career. Back Norrie to win at least two sets and consider adding at least one for Arnaldi in a match that looks a slight candidate for five.
