THE PREDICTION
This will be the second meeting in as many months between world number 10 Taylor Fritz and number 75 Marton Fucsovics, with Fritz taking their first ever meeting in straight sets at Indian Wells last month. The 25-year-old is an excellent all-courter but he certainly proved the fact last week in Monte-Carlo by completely obliterating an out-of-sorts Stefanos Tsitsipas, the two-time defending champion, at the Monte-Carlo Masters before defeat to eventual champion Andrey Rublev in the semi-finals. 31-year-old Fucsovics is making steady enough progress this season after enduring a horrid 2022 but a comeback victory over Munich wildcard Max Rehberg on Tuesday does not bode well for his chances here. Fritz looks the dark horse for this title behind defending champion Holger Rune and he should be able to beat Fucsovics in straight sets once again.
