The Ukrainian has enjoyed a remarkable surge up the rankings season after finally realising a fair bit more of her clear potential at this level but she rode her luck a little at Indian Wells, receiving a walkover en-route to the semi-finals last month at next opponent Marketa Vondrousova’s expense. World number eight Vondrousova has been struggling with injury issues practically ever since her storming run to a maiden Grand Slam title at Wimbledon last summer but she has thoroughly impressed back on her favoured clay this week.
