24-year-old Marketa Vondrousova finished runner-up to Ash Barty at Roland-Garros in 2019, setting a career-high WTA world ranking of 14th, and she has made the second weeks of both the Australian Open and the US Open. The Czech moved back inside the top 40 on tour this week as she continues to repair her ranking from a long injury lay-off and she could be a dark horse for a deep run at Wimbledon this fortnight with the right draw, with a second round exit her best showing yet. 21-year-old Peyton Stearns is a player on the up, though, and making her Wimbledon debut at a career-high of 55th after here recent exploits on clay. The American failed to qualify in Berlin, where Vondrousova made the quarter-finals, to look the underdog via inexperience on grass more than anything else but three sets would not be a surprise here.
