THE PREDICTION
World number 40 Marie Bouzkova conceded just two games to doubles partner Sara Sorribes Tormo on Wednesday to gain some much-needed confidence on tour. The 25-year-old reached the round of 16 at Wimbledon last summer before a decent spell on the late hardcourt swing, particularly in reaching the last eight in Cincinnati, but she has struggled to make a dent so far this year after ending last year as runner-up to Katerina Siniakova in Jiangxi. World number 33 Anastasia Potapova made the last 16 in Dubai last time out but the Russian is currently far from the player who took in-form Jessica Pegula to three sets here last season before stunning Coco Gauff en-route to the quarter-finals in Miami. 22-year-old Potapova should not be far from a return to her former self, especially as she has often excelled on clay, but Bouzkova looks the slight favourite here on momentum. The Czech beat Potapova to win her only WTA title to date in Prague two years ago and taking her to earn at least a set here looks the sensible way to avoid a result.
TIP: MARIE BOUZKOVA TO WIN A SET
