19-year-old Arthur Fils enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough season in 2023, winning is maiden ATP title at the Lyon Open in May before a superb run to the round of 16 at the US Open. World number 194 Marc-Andrea Huesler found the form of his career in late 2022, winning his maiden ATP title at the Sofia Open, but 2023 was a year to quickly forget. The Swiss qualified with gusto this weekend before a straight-sets victory over Vitaliy Sachko, suggesting he is ready to improve on last year’s woes, but a first meeting with Fils should be too steep of a challenge.
