THE PREDICTION

Former world number three Milos Raonic beat Taro Daniel in straight sets on Wednesday to take back-to-back wins for the first time since his return to tour from a two year absence. The 32-year-old came back from a 14-12 tiebreak down to stun ninth seed Frances Tiafoe in the first round and he now faces the incredible prospect of reaching the quarter-finals of a home Masters event just two months since making his return at ‘s-Hertogenbosch. 28-year-old Mackenzie McDonald will be ready for any signs of fatigue, though, after he upset sixth seed Andrey Rublev in straight sets on Wednesday to back-up an already impressive win over Aslan Karatsev. The American will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 46th for his efforts so far but he will be desperate for more after enjoying some of the best tennis of his career in 2023. Raonic will have the partisan atmosphere but whether or not he has the legs for a third match in four days remains to be seen. Take the Canadian to earn at least a set to leave the victor up to chance and consider adding at least a tiebreak.
