World number 15 Belinda Bencic looked in strong form in Washington last week before coming completely undone by eventual champion Coco Gauff in the quarter-finals. The 26-year-old has been one of the form players on hardcourts this year, though, with two WTA titles claimed in Adelaide and Abu Dhabi before an injury saw her miss much of the spring.
