The 30-year-old has struggled for form since failing to defend her Hua Hin Championships title in February, coming close before finishing runner-up to Diana Shnaider, and she showed little enthusiasm for clay last summer to suggest this could be a real upset on Wednesday. 18-year-old Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva is a former Australian Open junior champion with a bright future in the sport.
