29-year-old Lin Zhu set a career-high WTA world ranking of 33rd earlier this season after a remarkable run to the round of 16 at the Australian Open, where she stunned Maria Sakkari in three sets, was followed by her maiden WTA title at the Hua Hin Championships. The Chinese also reached the semi-final of the Monterrey Open in early March before defeat to eventual champion Donna Vekic but she takes a four-match losing streak since then into the first round at Roland-Garros.
