World number 78 Laslo Djere stands a solid chance at the upset here against number 21 Borna Coric for a few reasons. The 27-year-old beat Roman Safiullin in comfortable fashion on Monday to get a match in his legs at the inaugural Banja Luka 250 whilst former world number 12 Coric comes in a little cold from an early exit to Nicolas Jarry at last week’s Monte-Carlo Open. 26-year-old Coric is an excellent all-courter at his best but the Croat takes a four-match losing streak onto an unfamiliar court on Tuesday to face one of the better clay specialists on tour. Djere leads Coric 2-1 in their head-to-head record with all three of their encounters coming on clay, although Coric claimed their most recent of two encounters last summer at the Hamburg Open.
