World number 14 Belinda Bencic started 2023 off on fire with two titles claimed in Adelaide and Abu Dhabi either side of a run to the round of 16 at the Australian Open. The Swiss has struggled with form and more importantly fitness since, though, with a more recent run to the Charleston Open final hampered by an injury as she finished runner-up to Ons Jabeur. 26-year-old Bencic lost to Elina Avanesyan in the first round at Roland-Garros in her most recent match on tour and it remains to be seen how she has recovered after taking a month off. World number 146 Katie Swan has enjoyed some recent runs on the ITF circuit but the British hopeful comes into Wimbledon with less form than last season, where she came close to upsetting Marta Kostyuk in a three-set defeat. If Bencic is anywhere close to fit she should be able to rise above the noise here to win in straight sets but the sensible move is backing her to win outright, so it could be best to leave this alone altogether.
