THE PREDICTION

World number 13 Grigor Dimitrov is yet to drop a set this week after two encouraging wins over Sebastian Korda and home underdog Arthur Rinderknech. The 32-year-old suffered an avoidable exit to Nuno Borges in the third round of the Australian Open last month but he has bounced back well to look a solid title contender here in Marseille as he aims to claim a second ATP title this season. World number 18 Karen Khachanov has conceded just nine games so far this week, impressively ousting old foe Roberto Bautista Agut and in-form Zhizhen Zhang, but he trails Dimitrov 3-0 in their head-to-head. The Bulgarian won their most recent encounter in straight sets at the Shanghai Masters last October and he also claimed both of their indoor hardcourt encounters in Vienna in 2020 and Paris a year later. This all-new improved version of the former world number three looks set to enjoy one of his best seasons on tour with a new lease of life but three sets seem likelier than two here. Back Dimitrov to reach the final.

TIP: GRIGOR DIMITROV TO WIN
