THE PREDICTION
26-year-old Julia Grabher has been enjoying a clear rise in form since the start of the clay swing and she will set a new career-high of 61st no matter the outcome of this maiden tour final. The Austrian beat Julia Riera in three tight sets on Friday to back-up a solid performance over defending champion Martina Trevisan, who had to retire after their first set, but Grabher’s best results on clay came two weeks ago at the Italian Open when she stunned Jil Teichmann before coming very close to ousting world number nine Daria Kasatkina. World number 102 Lucia Bronzetti is through to her second tour final after dismantling Sloane Stephens for just two conceded games on Friday, backing up another blistering win over Alycia Parks in the quarter-finals. The 24-year-old brought a woeful 10-match losing streak at tour level into the Rabat Open but she has weathered by far the tougher draw of the two finalists this week to look a totally different player now.
Bronzetti finished runner-up to Irina-Camelia Begu at the Palermo Ladies Open last summer and that extra ounce of experience may be the deciding factor here. Given their results this week, backing Bronzetti to earn at least a set looks the sensible way to lean here. Otherwise, back Bronzetti to edge this.
